Semi Set
Can the center round stone setting in a semi mount be modified to fit an oval stone?
I need the center to fit a 2 carat stone I already own but the only mountings I have found that I like are for round stones.
Go into a locally owned jeweler with the stone and a printout of what you’d like – they’ll be able to draw up a modification of the setting that’ll suit an oval stone without risking the stone becoming loose and falling out.
A major brand jeweler will not do this for you, but a smaller jeweler should be able to find you a setting that will work, or they will customize one for you.
